Now, I know a lot of you have been itching for this one article.

I’ve done it.

A few years back, I scooped up a dividend stock that had a 25% payout!

Most investors would have discarded the company out of hand… but I dug in.  I recognized the risks and scooped up shares for my portfolio.  Over the next 18 months, I made 150% on dividends and the stock price rocketed higher… when all was said and done, I pocketed over 500% on my money!

I’d still own the stock today, except the management team took the company private!

Today, I’m looking to capture lightning in a bottle… for the second time.

Now a word of warning… normally dividend stocks are very safe and conservative.

These stocks I’m going to talk about today are the exact opposite.  They pay a very high dividend because of the risks around the business.

They pay a high dividend because many investors believe the dividend might get cut.

Just remember not to fall in love with these stocks… and only use play money – money you can afford to lose – to buy some of these stocks.  And for gosh sakes, don’t put all your money in these high dividend payers.

These are lottery ticket dividend stocks!

So let’s dig in.

The Five Stocks I’m looking at are…

Arlington Asset Investment Corp. (AI)

Arlington Asset Investment Corp., an investment firm, acquires mortgage-related and other assets. The company acquires on a leveraged basis residential mortgage-backed securities (MBS) that are issued by the United States (U.S.) government agency, or guaranteed as to principal and interest by U.S. government agencies, or U.S. government-sponsored entities. It also acquires MBS issued by private organizations.

What attracted me to the company was the crazy high 19.9% dividend yield.

New York Mortgage Trust Inc. (NYMT)

New York Mortgage Trust, Inc., a real estate investment trust (REIT), engages in acquiring, investing in, financing, and managing mortgage-related and financial assets in the United States. It primarily invests in residential mortgage-backed securities comprising adjustable-rate, hybrid adjustable-rate, fixed-rate, interest only and inverse interest only, and principal only mortgage-backed securities; multi family commercial mortgage-backed securities; and residential mortgage loans, including loans sourced from distressed markets. The company qualifies as a REIT for federal income tax purposes.

They do the same thing Arlington Asset Investment Corp does!  The difference… they do it profitably.
